If you have time to extend your visit we warmly recommend you walk around the foopaths surrounding the park. DO NOT ENTER THE PARK EXCEPT IN THE COMPANY OF THE WARDEN - THE CATTLE CAN BE DANGEROUS!

A superb footpath system has been laid out around Chillingham Park with Permissive Access under the Defra Higher Level Stewardship Scheme.

The main path leads around the perimeter of the Park, through the woodlands and following the boundary wall, across the moor round by the ancient encampment of Ros Castle. You will enjoy spectacular views over the parkland and beyond to the Cheviot hills; also a chance to see the wild cattle from safe viewpoints. You may also see fallow and roe deer, red squirrels and a fine variety of bird life.
